About Us

The University of Michigan’s Investment Office, a unit of Business & Finance, was established in 1999 and currently oversees the Long Term Portfolio of the university’s endowment.

The primary objective of the office is to optimize the endowment’s performance by developing investment policies, strategic asset allocation, policy and performance benchmarks, and risk management practices so that the real purchasing power of the fund’s principal is preserved and maintained.
