Job Description
Summary: Top investment bank is seeking an Equity Research Associate with deep scientific background to support Biotechnology Analyst and Senior Pharma & Biotech analyst (#1 ranked SMID Biotech/3x ranked team).
Responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining financial models
- Writing research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, and industry/company news
- Conducting proprietary research evaluating drug pipelines by analyzing scientific literature, attending medical conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders
- Delving into intellectual properties, the patent law and litigations related to biotech and pharmaceuticals
- Conceiving and executing on differentiated project ideas
- Interfacing with company management teams, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors
- Creating statistical models/analyses
Key qualifications:
- Ideal candidate qualities include competitiveness/drive, strong work ethic, creativity, intellectual curiosity, team player
- 1+ years’ experience in investment banking or public accounting is ideal, other desirable areas include biopharmaceuticals equity research, buy-side, healthcare consulting, or biopharmaceutical industry
- Experience building financial models using Excel
- Proficiency in written/verbal communication
Education:
- BA required, major in finance, accounting, math/statistics science, or medicine preferred
- Advanced degree (eg, Master of Finance) or professional license (eg, CPA) also preferred but not required
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of
$100,000 - $120,000.
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
