Overview
Adams Street Partners is actively seeking an Associate to join its Investor Relations (IR) team in Chicago, supporting the global sales operations function. This position will provide a superior level of service/support by creating and coordinating effective communications and data analysis, primarily internally, but also with limited exposure to prospective and existing clients. Responsibilities
Specifically, the individual will be involved with and responsible to:
- Serve as coordinator for Global IR project management and assist with process improvement, including managing the fund and fundraising extension process, coordinating fund closing process, overseeing compliance-related requests (including audits), and other projects.
- Manage data initiatives regarding client/prospect relationships for sales management support, including creating and preparing reports.
- Analyze pipeline data and communicate findings of fundraising-related efforts amongst key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Create presentations and other types of correspondence that will be utilized both externally with clients or prospective clients, and internally, including Executive Committee or Firmwide presentations, pipeline meeting materials with Investment Teams, etc..
- Serve as IR point person and subject matter expert for internal and external systems and databases including Salesforce, Datasite, SUBSCRIBE, Foresight, and the Dynamo Investor Portal (access, data entry, client inquiries); provide leadership in document maintenance (updating client records, including but not limited to subscription documents, wire instructions, client contact details, fund transfers).
- Collaborate with teams across the firm to ensure accurate and prompt follow-up to projects, including Legal, Marketing, IT, Finance, etc..
- Support Global IR team with end-to-end Client Onboarding experience, and assist with IR employee Onboarding including some training.
- Champion projects amongst global IR Associates and Senior Associates, and manage agendas amongst other internal working groups.
- Conduct market research to help identify new business opportunities, and complete special projects for firmwide strategic initiatives.
- Seek opportunities to improve efficiencies to support Adams Street’s fundraising needs and client servicing processes.
- Exercise a combination of project management and hands-on execution to ensure that important projects are accomplished on deadline and with the highest-quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
We seek an individual eager to provide support and enable success within a private markets sales organization, and has the following characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree with a proven record of academic success.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ professional experience, ideally with a business/operational focus.
- Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail, and desire to enable success within a sales organization.
- Strong and well-developed analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills. Ability to synthesize technical data and translate it to reach the target audience. Desire to learn the context of assignments and develop industry knowledge.
- Must work extremely well within a team-based environment while also being independent and self- motivated
- Technically proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (complex formulas, Pivot Tables, Vlookup). Salesforce a plus.
- A professional presence combined with exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and external parties, with respect for confidential information and a mature approach to all matters of discretion.
- A highly-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team context.
