Scope
As VP of Treasury, you will be responsible for managing and developing the Firm’s Treasury function. We are looking for a nimble individual who will bring a data- and technology-driven approach to enhancing Houlihan Lokey’s Treasury function, including global cash management, funding forecasts, fixed income investment portfolio, FX management, and compliance and risk. You will determine if and how to restructure all aspects of the function, including technology, financial model streamlining, and financial controls, risk, and compliance.
This is a newly created role, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a new treasury function. Responsibilities
- Direct and enhance all aspects of Treasury strategy including investments, FX, debt, contingent liabilities, reporting, and systems.
- Manage global cash, liquidity, fixed income investment portfolio, and other Treasury operations for North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.
- Optimize the firm’s key capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk management. Responsible for revamping the regional processes, developing a global strategy that is consistent with the Firm’s overall goals for more flexible cash movement between countries, increasing yield, and minimizing operational risks and fraud.
- Manage global foreign exchange risk by identifying and evaluating FX exposures and implementing hedging strategies.
- Manage Firm’s funding forecasts to ensure financial stability and contribute to the long-term strategic planning required to support the company’s future growth initiatives.
- Advise executives on the Firm’s share repurchase program and create reports for SEC disclosures. Make recommendations based on available cash and forecasted cash needs, in light of market messaging to investors.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecast and related schedules and manage the firm’s operating cash position.
- Develop and streamline financial models for internal and external reporting and analysis.
- Support strategic financing initiatives working with internal and external parties, i.e. cash repatriation, global liquidity analysis, forecasting coordination, hedging, and M&A activities including Treasury-related due diligence and acquisition integration.
- Develop and manage banking relationships to ensure uninterrupted access to money and capital markets.
- Monitor and reduce bank fees by consolidating accounts and negotiating with banks.
- Oversee AML/KYC and bank account onboardings.
- Implement best practices on banking infrastructure, such as bank diversification.
- In the event of an acquisition, ensure that bank accounts are properly transitioned to the HL accounting team and that all SOX controls are put in place.
- Own strategy and major technology projects to enhance treasury ecosystem and infrastructure.
- Evaluate current processes and determine need to implement a Treasury Management System and applicable modules.
- Determine process to develop and implement a machine learning-based liquidity forecast.
- Manage and improve policies related to risk and compliance.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve controls and manage security threats. Develop policies and procedures for ad hoc trades.
- Keep abreast of treasury-related SOX regulations. Draft SOX-related procedural and compliance documents and maintain a central repository of data.
- Interface with senior management and build strong working relationships with Accounting, Tax, FP&A teams, among others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 10+ years of progressive treasury experience
- Experience in working for large, complex public companies across multiple geographies
- Ability to multi-task and handle several deadlines simultaneously
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, prioritizing and juggling multiple matters
- Confidence and ability to act as a business advisor, developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal business clients
- Ability and desire to help define role and develop new skills, as specific responsibilities may change over time
- Willingness and flexibility to work independently and as a team member with all levels of legal and business personnel
- Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures in a SOX environment
- Thorough understanding of bank account management and of managing investments (Bank of America CashPro experience is a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail
- Effective at identifying issues and evaluating risks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$180,000.00-$250,000.00
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
