Position Summary
The Transition & Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the Transitions and Support team in Investment Operations, facilitating the efficient onboarding of new accounts and the completion of middle office and back office operational processes. This role requires a functional knowledge of investment operations, particularly in trade settlements, fixed income, and equities workflows.
The Transition & Support Manager will also be involved in custodian conversions and inter-account transfers. This position necessitates close cooperation with the Investment Operations teams, such as Settlements, Reconciliation, and Cash Control, and will require interaction with other key departments within the firm, including Client Services, Mutual Funds Administration, Information Technology, and the Investment teams.
Essential Duties
- Manage account transitions and track the execution of all activities and progress related to account transitions.
- Facilitate the processing of account onboarding documentation to ensure the successful initiation of new accounts.
- Engage with custodians to verify funding requirements and to manage the opening of currencies and markets.
- Facilitate governance meetings with custodians and vendors to resolve service-related concerns, drive efficiencies, and utilize best practices.
- Handle the funding of new accounts, including cash and securities, and perform reconciliations with custodian banks. Manage, process, and reconcile custodian conversions and inter-account transfers.
- Collaborate with business leads across various departments to ensure preparedness for the launch of new mandates.
- Coordinate proxy voting efforts with different custodians and the internal proxy team.
- Assist in meeting SOC 1 requirements for the Operations Team. Support projects aimed at automation and the development of processes and improvements.
- Support the development of trading in new products, identify and implement automated solutions for manual processes.
- Implement vendor oversight by reviewing SLAs and KPIs, in addition to assessing the overall quality of service offered by the service provider.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Strong understanding of fixed income and equity securities, including derivatives and FX instruments.
- Minimum 6 year of Investment Operations or Middle Office/Back Office related experience.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and adaptability to new systems.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing account funding or similar duties with a buy-side asset manager, custodial bank, or equivalent sell side experience preferred.
- Experience with new account on-boarding documents and workflow, and cash and securities funding.
Estimated Compensation:
Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $110K-$130K. This is an anticipated range and represents base salary only.
Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
