About The Opportunity
The
Solutions Portfolio Manager (SPM) is responsible for supporting all aspects of a growing US insurance and 529 business. Critical to the role is a deep understanding of the channel landscape, investment strategies, portfolio construction techniques, and global market performance. This person will serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of research views, portfolio construction, and portfolio strategy for current FTIS offerings to the US Insurance and 529 Channel.
This position will be located in our New York City or Boston office.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this role?
- Serve as a product specialist supporting FTIS focused on annuity and 529 portfolios, covering custom glidepath, asset allocation, and single asset class strategies by representing investment philosophy, process, and performance.
- Work with the investment and operations teams in the management of portfolios.
- Partner with the portfolio management and analysis team to support the creation of bespoke multi-asset solutions.
- Interact with clients and prospects, or the client service team, on client service requests.
- Engage with and support a large field sales organization and support on-demand inquiries.
- Participate in the preparation for and execution of client/sales related meetings.
- Ability to travel to support business development and client efforts using FTIS investment insights providing topical market/product commentary and supporting FTIS’s view.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred (CFA, or working towards, a plus)
- 5-10 years of work experience in asset management
- Passion for the markets and knowledge of multiple investment vehicles including Mutual Funds, ETFs, and SMAs.
- Experience in product management or product specialist a plus with strong understanding of investment concepts and desire to grow a business.
- Ability to communicate investment insights effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience using investment software and analytics (i.e. Bloomberg and Morningstar)
- Knowledge of the current competitive investment landscape (i.e. strategies, classifications, and channels) is a plus.
Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $140,000 - $175,000.
