Overview
The Director or North American Real Estate Capital Raising will work with the Global Head of Real Estate Capital raising to define, own and deliver on the capital raising objecties of the firm as it relates to North American based real estate investors through direct engagement with prospects and leveraging the existing distribution team.
Responsibilities
- Engage with institutional investors, and to speak with authority about real assets to help identify and deliver capital raising opportunities.
- Collaboration with and support of the real estate and infrastructure fund management and investment specialist team, including support of the preparation of and delivery of presentation materials for investor meetings / pitches.
- Collaboration with and support of the wider LGIM team to help identify and engage with investor prospects, across North America.
- Engage with investors in a global private market’s solutions-oriented dialogue, understanding LGIMs investment framework that integrates both long-term strategic and near-term tactical asset allocation recommendations across real asset categories, geographies, and structures.
- Support the ongoing client relationship management with existing and new investors, ensuring proactive engagement and responsiveness to needs and requests, including assisting with the due diligence process
- Shape the future strategy of the real estate platform through gathering market and investor knowledge and acting as the client voice for future strategy and demand
- Represent and advocate for real estate as the distribution voice with senior stakeholders including at board level
- Participation in internal and external client conferences and industry events, including presenting and/or moderate panel discussions at industry forums.
- Maintenance of all investor opportunities, meeting/call notes, and related contacts in LGIM’s CRM system, to assist with cross-platform information sharing and intelligence gathering.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in the investment management industry, with a focus on real estate.
- Proven track record of success in dealing with North American institutional investors.
- Expertise in engagement with institutional investors, including experience within a capital raise or investor relations team at an real estate/real assets manager or placement agents.
- Demonstrable network of investors contacts, preferably across client segments and regions in North America – e.g. pension plans, insurance companies, endowments/foundations, consultants ideally with established access to real asset decision-makers.
- Experience in presenting or discussing individual real estate investments or transactions in detail.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and understanding of industry trends and investor requirements.
- Experience with new product development and execution, including strategy development, creation of PPMs, marketing plans, and related marketing materials.
- Broad capital markets knowledge, with real estate as a focus. Demonstration of broader knowledge across other real asset sectors is a significant plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with presentation experience in small and large group settings.
- Additional qualification CFA/CAIA preferable.

Salary Range
$200,000 - $250,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
