POSITION PURPOSE:
The Fund Accounting Manager, Accounting (Systems) is responsible for the core functionality of Yardi ERP system and supporting the related Yardi functionality as it relates to the accounting for the Fund and entities. Additional responsibilities will include analysis, troubleshooting, maintenance and improvements in Yardi. This role will require a combination of both fund accounting experience as well as Yardi Investment Accounting system experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage full-cycle accounting including preparation and analysis of the financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers. Prepare and review interim and annual financial reports as required under GAAP, and support audit and tax teams
- Implement various simple (pro-rata) to complex investor allocation methodologies (examples preferred return calculation, waterfall method) and create and design allocation templates based on needs
- Assist in Treasury functions including review of facility, covenant compliance, liquidity management and cash projections and review of cash transfers
- Collaborate with centralized team for Onboarding and maintenance of Yardi entities for Opportunistic Real Estate Funds, including the upkeep of Yardi tables, property lists, chart of accounts, account trees and rollup rules
- Analysis and management of the company/Fund/partnership rollup commitment structures within Investment Management. Provide data validation, testing and other support that may be required for maintenance, data conversions, upgrades or other projects relating to Yardi system support
- Analysis/troubleshoot of transactions related to the general ledger close, including eliminations, accruals for fund level expenses, distributions and other transactions within the Investment Accounting system
- Collaborate cross functionally across various external and internal teams to resolve and support Yardi issues/functionality and accounting needs of the department. Serve as point of contact on Yardi matters for Opportunistic Real Estate vehicles
- Document and update Yardi system procedures, processes and training manuals as needed to ensure strong internal controls
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or related field,
- 5+ years’ previous related Fund Accounting plus Yardi Investment Accounting module is required
- System conversion, implementation, data migration experience and SQL knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of various asset classes, including closed-end real estate fund structures (subsequent closes, capital calls, distributions), PE fee structures (management fees and carried interest) valuation approaches and impact to accounting.
- Prior Fund accounting experience including preparation/reviews full-cycle accounting of assigned portfolio of fund(s), co-investments, investments including preparation and analysis of the financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers in Yardi platform
- Working knowledge of PE accounting ledger and associated hands on Yardi system experience

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles is $100,000 - $140,000.
