With close to 50 economists and 200 economics and government reporters worldwide, Bloomberg has an outstanding capacity to explain where the world is economically and politically, where it might be heading, and the ways in which economic and geopolitical forces interact.
Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research.
As a next step, we are expanding our geoeconomics research and building out our global coverage of key regions and issues, from the rise of populism to the evolution of artificial intelligence. The goal is to offer Bloomberg clients a deeper insight into the themes that drive economics, markets and policy.
We are seeking an expert on critical and emerging technology to join our growing team!
The Role
The successful candidate will work with Bloomberg’s Chief Geoeconomics Analyst and other members of the team on research projects aimed at helping our clients understand concretely how technological innovation and geopolitical competition over technology will impact the global economy and markets.
Short-turnaround projects will include quick analysis of breaking news on technology-related developments impacting geopolitics and the economy, from the use of export controls to technological breakthroughs.
Longer-term projects will include taking the lead in building data sets and models that provide a more systematic way of understanding critical and emerging technology, geopolitical competition over key technologies and the implications for markets and business.
We’ll measure success by the breadth and depth of our analysis on this growing area of focus for Bloomberg clients.
