Job Title: Fund Accountant
Company: A Growing Middle-Market Private equity firm in NYC that has invested over $5 billion across several funds
Job Summary:
As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial operations of private equity funds. You will work closely with the Investment, Operations and Finance teams to ensure that accurate and timely financial information is reported to our investors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and other reports for our private equity funds
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assist in the preparation and review of periodic investor reports
- Reconcile accounts and provide analysis of variances
- Assist in the preparation of complex tax documents for investors
- Work closely with the Investment team to ensure that proper financial information is being provided and updated
- Prepare and review investor capital calls and distributions
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and discrepancies between the general ledger and sub-ledgers
- Assist in the preparation of financial and performance reports for internal and external audiences
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-5 years of accounting/audit experience, preferably in the private equity industry
- Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of financial software and systems
