Balyasny Asset Management is looking for a career coach to manage the Summer 2025 ATLAS Fellows. This is a 9-week seasonal opportunity. We have two roles available; one in our BAM New York City Office and the second in our BAM Chicago Office. The career coach is required to work in the BAM offices five days per week. Hours will be standard 9am-5pm.

ATLAS Fellows, Inc. opens doors for brilliant and under-resourced young people to obtain life-changing careers in finance. Founded in 2021, ATLAS helps Fellows achieve college and career goals by providing four years of robust financial, academic, and professional support, including our four ‘ships’:
· Scholarship: up to $20,000/year in financial aid for college education and other costs
· Internships: up to four years of best-in-class, paid, full-time summer internships at prestigious financial institutions
· Mentorships: access to the knowledge, guidance, and networks of talented, experienced, and committed professionals in finance
· Membership: induction into close-knit, supportive community of current ATLAS Fellows and Alumni
Currently, ATLAS partners with financial institutions to host Fellows for full-time, paid summer internships. The ATLAS Fellows Career Coach leads, advises, and guides site-specific cohorts of Fellows through successful completion of the summer internship and programming, including the development of professional knowledge, skills, networks, and confidence necessary to navigate careers in the financial sector. This is a full-time, seasonal, on-site position at the offices of our largest partner financial firm.
Responsibilities:
I. Cohort Leadership & Oversight: be responsible for the successful performance of at least two cohorts of Fellows at a specific site (NYC or Chicago), ensuring a high level of consistency and engagement in programming. Career Coaches are responsible for maintaining Fellows’ consistent high performance in:
a. Attendance
b. Punctuality
c. Engagement
d. Learning & Development
e. Professional Communication
f. Overall Performance
II. Fellow Advising: support and advise all Fellows in assigned cohort(s) through 1-on-1 and group advising meetings throughout the internship period.
a. Develop, maintain, and utilize individualized advising plans; meet with all Fellows regularly and as needed throughout internship
b. Communicate, coordinate with ATLAS Mentors & partner firms to ensure successful outcomes for partners, mentors and Fellows.
c. Support Fellows in required projects including final presentations, resumes, and interviews
III. Fellow Professional Development: ensure all Fellows are developing professionally through active participation and engagement in workshops, trainings, and other avenues.
a. Track learning and development through available or newly developed participation/engagement metrics
b. Plan and coordinate workshops and/or events as needed (i.e. final presentations, career panels)
c. Develop internal avenues to further develop and enrich Fellows professional knowledge and skills through required readings, discussion groups, and newly developed programming.
IV. Workshop/Event Facilitation: develop, coordinate, and facilitate ATLAS workshops, trainings, and social events as needed. Sessions to be developed/facilitated include:
a. Onboarding & Training for Fellows
b. Workshops and Panels
c. Social Events (including advising the ATLAS Social Committee)
V. Data Collection, Management, and Analysis: collect, track, and analyze Fellow data to ensure organizational health and Fellow performance.
a. Data Collection: ensure all data is collected from Fellows, partners, and collaborators. Follow-up with sources for missing materials.
b. Data Management: develop and maintain spreadsheets for data collection and tracking.
c. Data Analysis: utilize data to inform staff on Fellow performance, interventions, and advising.
VI. Other duties as assigned, including liaising with partner firm staff/departments including HR, Compliance, etc.
Qualifications
- 4-year undergraduate degree in education or finance-related field of study
- Experience working with high-school and college-aged students and professionals, either in educational or professional context
- Experience developing and/or leading educational or career development/training content
- Experience working in on-site, professional, office environments, preferably in financial sector
- Experience as an applicant or recruitment/hiring role in internship programs, preferably in finance; strong knowledge of financial sector, particularly entry-level points of access
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
