JOB DESCRIPTION
The ABS Analyst will be part of the Securitized Products Group. Primary responsibilities include comprehensive ABS market coverage with a particular focus on collateral credit and transaction structure, preparing primary market investment reviews, timely surveillance of relevant sectors and firmwide holdings, supporting secondary investment activity, engaging internal and external counterparties on sector related matters. The analyst will be an integral member of the SPG team, adding depth to existing ABS activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comprehensive research across the ABS market, addressing both consumer and commercial sectors. Contribute insights and credit views to broader group, incorporating market pricing to support relative value decision making.
- Primary market investment review and recommendations. Determine investment appropriateness across the firm’s account base. considering collateral credit quality, transaction structures, documentation, cash flow stress testing, counterparty risk and sector liquidity.
- Conduct timely credit surveillance for sector investments held across the firm. Communicate relevant information to applicable constituents.
- Secondary market investment activity. Work with traders to support both buy and sell decision making based on relative value and credit considerations.
- Support the initiatives of SPG, client portfolio managers and operations teams as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-7 years of relevant work experience, fundamental understanding of securitization markets, familiarity with consumer and commercial ABS subsectors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, working knowledge of programming languages.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
- CFA or demonstrated progress toward obtaining credential is desirable.
