Investment Accounting Data Manager
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Investment Accounting Data Manager to join
our team. The successful candidate will
be responsible for working with our senior staff to support our need for
specialized data and technical support for our current investment accounting
platform. Ability to actively
participate in our initiative to implement a next generation investment
accounting platform in the cloud. Responsible
for working with the Investment Accounting team to build efficiencies in the
month and year end close and reporting process and assisting with the more
complex security accounting matters faced by the team. This position will be responsible for working
with the Information Technology team to support these initiatives.
Key
Responsibilities:
Data and Technical Support: Provide support within the current investment accounting platform to
assist the Investment Accounting team in performing their monthly,
quarterly and annual close and reporting requirements.
New Platform Support: Be
an active participant in the selection and implementation of a next
generation investment accounting solution for the organization.
Investment Accounting: Maintain
accurate accounting records for specialized asset classes including bank
loans, collateralized loan obligations, mortgage loans and alternative
investments.
Financial Reporting: Assist
the investment accounting staff in ensuring client books and records
accurately reflect these invested asset types.
Compliance: Ensure all
accounting practices and financial reports comply with relevant regulatory
standards, including GAAP, IFRS, and Statutory accounting principles.
Client Communication: Collaborate
with portfolio managers to provide timely and accurate financial information and respond
to client inquiries.
System Management: Utilize
and maintain investment accounting software and systems to streamline
reporting processes and enhance data accuracy.
Audit Support: Assist
with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and
explanations of financial data.
Data Management: Work
within the CAMRA system and partner with IT resources to ensure that
non-standard client investment information is properly accounted for.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA designation preferred.
Minimum
of 10 years of experience in investment accounting, preferably within an
asset management firm or insurance company.
Strong
working knowledge of fixed income securities and investment accounting
principles.
Proficiency
in financial reporting software, CAMRA experience preferred
Advanced
SQL with demonstrated knowledge of database structures and writing complex
joint statements across multiple tables/databases to retrieve the desired
data, SQL Management Studio experience preferred.
Microsoft
Office Suite, advanced Excel with knowledge of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
Excellent
analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability
to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability
to work extended hours during month-end close.

We currently offer an excellent opportunity for an Investment
Accounting Data Manager in our NEAM office located in Farmington, CT.
We currently offer a hybrid schedule with M/F remote and T/W/TR in
the office. Investment Accounting has
the option to work remotely the 1st week of each month.
