Purpose and Job Summary:
NXT is currently seeking a financial analyst to support the Finance & Accounting Team in executing on its internal and external financial reporting obligations, as well as to assist in analyzing and explaining financial performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Internal Reporting
- Prepare monthly internal financial statements that are delivered directly to management
- Maintain monthly reconciliations of the NXT portfolio of investments
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial information from colleagues across the organization
- Assist with a monthly variance analysis vs budget and forecast
- Provide a monthly flash estimate of financial performance in advance of each month-end
- External Reporting
- Complete monthly and quarterly financial reporting to be delivered to NXT’s parent company
- Work with external fund administrators on producing monthly and quarterly Fund and SMA financial reporting for asset management clients and investors
- Facilitate reconciliation efforts between the NXT Operations team and external Fund Administrators for monthly Managed Vehicle reporting
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from investors, external auditors and government entities
- Assist in monthly fair value reporting for various SMAs – including delivering to client and responding to analytical questions from investors, auditors and internal management
- Calculate monthly management fees for all asset management programs and deliver monthly invoices to client
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate a timely and efficient year-end audit process
Education, Skills and Experience:
- 2-4 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a bank, finance company, asset manager, investment bank, fund administrator or accounting firm
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
- Understands business principles and language including the fundamentals of finance, accounting (GAAP and fund accounting) and planning and budgeting (FP&A)
- Advanced understanding of financial statements
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, independent thinker and a self-starter
Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with senior management and peers
- Detail oriented and a good team player, effective working with others
- Excellent organization skills, with ability to handle a wide variety of responsibilities, effectively multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to take on special projects and streamline existing processes
- An undergraduate degree is required – CPA a plus
Preferred:
Annual base salary gross: $85,000 - $99,000 (IL only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of the ORIX USA’s salary for this position. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX USA’s total compensation package for employees.
