The Role:
Blue Owl is seeking an Equipment Leasing Documentation Specialist for a full-time position. The candidate’s primary area of focus at Blue Owl will be to support the Commercial Solutions and Equipment Finance investment strategy within the Alternative Credit Investment Team. The individual will work closely with both the firm’s Asset Management and Investment Teams to provide leasing documentation support as described in the responsibilities below.
Blue Owl’s Commercial Solutions and Equipment Financing strategy provides asset-based financing solutions to public and privately-owned companies. The strategy is focused on financing large-ticket mission critical assets, as well as programmatic funding of asset-based portfolios.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation
- Meet with Investment Team pre-funding to discuss documentation requirements, parties, terms, rate and deal structure in accordance with Investment Committee approval.
- Initiate documentation review process with lessees, vendors and/or indirect sources to generate or receive all documents. Set funding date and confirm economics.
- Prepare and review lease documents, reconcile invoices, address tax issues with internal tax department, coordinate with vendors and manage UCC process with external counsel.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with transaction parameters and are accepted by counsel.
- Work with the Investment Team and Asset Management to coordinate the booking process including preparation of Booking Sheets.
- Act as first point of contact with clients on post close documentation follow up issues and requests.
- Join weekly investment team meetings to understand the pipeline of future transactions and discuss documentation status of transactions in process.
- Support the asset management team in coordinating responses to annual audit requests and investor due diligence questions.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- In-depth and detailed understanding of leasing and loan documentation for both direct and indirect lease transactions
- High proficiency in excel and working with large data sets.
- High levels of ownership, drive and integrity. Organized and able to multi-task.
- Paralegal experience helpful
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $110,000 to $125,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
