Position Summary
Associates on the Technology Team collaborate with Principals, Vice Presidents, and Analysts to deliver on various business and financial analyses as our Managing Directors work to expand our investment portfolio. Some of these responsibilities include evaluating technology companies, conducting financial analysis and business diligence on investments, deriving enterprise valuations for companies, and interacting with financial sponsors and management teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide full analytical support of new and on-going business deals, which includes due diligence and data collection ensuring the accuracy and validity of supplied information.
- Analyze companies’ financial performance, including operational performance and key performance indicators.
- Analyze companies’ industry positioning and competitive differentiation.
- Assist in portfolio management as one of the key liaisons between Hercules Capital and the portfolio companies, ensuring portfolio compliance with reporting, financial performance, and covenants.
- Create reports analyzing findings to review and present to management team and investment committee.
- Expand business opportunities through cultivation of client relationships.
- Provide additional analysis support as requested by management.
- Other duties and projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three - five years of related experience in a lending, financial, banking, or consulting environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proven analytical, presentation and project skills are critical.
- Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling multiple projects at any given time.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statements is essential, including allocation of overhead expenses. In addition, comprehensive understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency with computer applications in a PC Windows based environment; experience with all MS applications is required.
