Kkr Real Estate Credit And K-star Investment Services Overview
KKR Real Estate Credit was formed in January 2015 to invest in real estate credit products and complement KKR Real Estate’s private equity platforms. Within KKR Real Estate Credit, we seek opportunities where we have a sourcing, underwriting or execution advantage by leveraging KKR’s brand, industry knowledge and relationships. KKR Real Estate Credit currently invests through six separately capitalized vehicles across our Direct Lending and Securities portfolios and consists of 50+ dedicated professionals based in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas and London.
K-Star Asset Management LLC ("K-Star") was formed in 2022 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of KKR. K-Star is a dedicated investment services platform that supports underwriting, asset management, loan origination, securities investing, risk management, and client experience for KKR Real Estate Credit as it continues to scale. Position Overview
K-Star is seeking an enthusiastic, intelligent, technology focused, highly organized and diligent individual to work in close coordination with the KKR and K-Star Asset Management teams, operations, and external loan servicing teams. The individual will be responsible for leading the post-closing process for KKR originated loans as well as ongoing risk analysis and reporting for the direct lending portfolio.
In addition to commercial real estate loan experience, this individual must be a critical thinker who is highly organized, a strong communicator, and has the ability to build strong partnerships across the various businesses and stakeholders, including the firm’s originations, legal, operations and asset management teams.
Role And Responsibilities
- Lead the post-closing transition of loans from KKR Originations to K-Star Asset Management and external loan servicing teams.
- Coordinate the receipt of closing documents, and delivery to external servicers.
- Update and maintain the K-Star system of record to capture loan terms and post close modifications as applicable.
- Identify and promote opportunities for maximizing efficiencies in the transactions process through enhanced procedures, technologies, etc.
- Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of commercial mortgage portfolio data from various sources to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Adhere to established data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance within internal system of record.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment portfolio analytics for senior management.
- Maintain portfolio reports related to tracking loan modifications, maturities, rate caps, and covenant compliance.
- Participate in and support ad hoc projects as the business continues to evolve and grow.
- Report KPIs to key stakeholders and analyze trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business-, Finance-, or Real Estate-related course of study, or equivalent experience in commercial real estate loan administration, loan closings or asset management
- At least two years of experience reviewing and interpreting commercial real estate loan and transactional documents.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong drive and initiative and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities, as needed.
- Team player with collaborative and strong relationship building skills, who has the confidence to work independently with minimal oversight once processes are established and represent the Firm’s culture and values in a professional and ethical manner.
- Fundamental knowledge of loan servicing and general lending and financial concepts
- Excellent organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Effective multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
- High level of integrity and the initiative to identify and escalate risk- and compliance-related issues.
