This is an individual contributor role and will primarily be responsible for providing insight and recommendations into purchasing various assets on behalf of Glasslake Funding ULC within established guidelines. The role will provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize portfolio performance allowing the organization to achieve business objectives.
This role requires knowledge, experience and understanding of small balance and large commercial lending with an understanding of residential lending considered an asset, preferably in the alternative lending space.

ResponsibilitiesThe following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities as requested. Job duties may change as required by the needs of the company.
- Complete in-depth analysis of potential investment portfolio as presented by Third Party Originators (TPO) partners to ensure alignment to overall portfolio objectives
- Active portfolio management of acquired assets
- Active portfolio management of the Company’s international investment portfolio
- Developing KPIs and management reporting packages to monitor transaction performance
- Performing mark-to-market modeling activities on the portfolio
- Developing ad-hoc financial models to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions.
- Assisting in the closing process for new acquisitions
- Assist in preparing loan committee memorandums, asset summary reports & presentations, portfolio and financial performance reports for senior management and clients / investors on fixed and ad-hoc basis
- Track market research for leasing and sales activity across all commercial property types in the markets they reside, identifying trends that could impact loan performance.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties including but not limited to borrowers, legal counsel, property manager and vendors
- Analysis: Understanding of real estate and finance fundamentals. Recommend transactions based on solid knowledge of local market, real estate and the borrower.
- Facilitate Diligence and Closing. Provide initial pricing guidance to the customer. Coordinate the submission and collection of required documentation with the borrower, broker and the credit team to underwrite and close a transaction.
- Customer Service: Represent the Company with honesty and integrity while delivering high levels of customer service to both our external and internal partners.
- Support other underwriting activities to ensure company objectives are met by acting as underwriter on residential and commercial loans as necessary
- Perform other duties as needed.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. MBA or other advanced degree desirable
- Minimum of 6-10 years in commercial lending environment.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and convicted communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Able to prioritize and follow through on loan requests.
- Professional level experience utilizing technical expertise and/or a solid knowledge base and skill set to process significantly important work with minimal training.
- Ability to analyze CRE risk.
- Knowledge of different loan types and loan structures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Personal discipline and the ability to manage time and priorities.
- Personally accountable for actions and results.
- Proven ability to source and close high volumes of business directly or through a network of intermediaries.
- Strong understanding of real estate risk with ability to apply to local markets/ submarkets.
- Disciplined approach to screen out non-target deals early and efficiently.
- Proven ability to sell.
- Strong credit skills, broad product knowledge, a book of clients and a demonstrable ability to close significant loan volumes annually.
