Position Overview
We are seeking a Quantitative Desk Analyst in our Evanston office to join the Systematic Investing team. The analyst will be responsible for a variety of research and trading elements associated with the business’ systematic investment strategies, working within a variety of markets, instruments and strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in empirical finance and quantitative style trading and familiarity with quantitative techniques such as factor modeling and portfolio optimization. The candidate needs to be a team player with excellent communication skills, and able to perform and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Trade execution and portfolio monitoring, including the identification of aberrations for exploration and ultimate resolution.
- Perform series of data quality checks on a pre-open and early open basis in addition to continuing ongoing monitoring throughout the day.
- Broad statistical and exploratory analysis on data sets under consideration for more fulsome research and development.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines in support of the business’ investment strategies.
- Back-test and optimize strategies using historical data to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing trading models and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related technical fields. 1-2 years of work experience is acceptable; 2-5 years of work experience is preferred
- Proven experience in quantitative trading or a related field, including familiarity with associated workflows and algorithms
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and machine learning techniques
- Experience with factor modeling and portfolio optimization
- Familiarity with reading, interpreting, scripting and data processing using Matlab and Python
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work in a high functioning environment
The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000 USD. The actual base salary will depend upon the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, business needs and market. This role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and if awarded is based on a variety of factors including firm and individual performance.
