Amalgamated Bank is seeking a Deputy CTO (Chief Technology Officer) who will play a crucial supporting role to the CTO, often focusing on the operational and tactical aspects of technology strategy. The Deputy CTO acts as a vital bridge between the CTO's strategic vision and the technical teams that implement it. - Operational Oversight:
- Managing day-to-day technology operations.
- Ensuring the efficient and effective execution of technology projects.
- Overseeing the maintenance and optimization of technology infrastructure.
- Project Management:
- Leading and coordinating technology projects.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Managing project risks and issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervising and mentoring technical teams.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration within the technology department.
- Assisting in recruiting and retaining top technical talent.
- Technical Strategy Implementation:
- Translating the CTO's strategic vision into actionable plans.
- Implementing technology policies and procedures.
- Evaluating and recommending new technologies.
- Stakeholder Communication, Engagement &Collaboration:
- Liaising with other departments and stakeholders.
- Communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Representing the CTO in meetings and presentations.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Implementing security protocols and procedures.
- Mitigating technology-related risks.
- Data Strategy & Leadership
- Foster a data-driven culture across the organization
- Help implement a data-driven strategy aligned with business goals.
- Data Management & Compliance
- Mitigate data risks and ensure data security best practices are adopted
- Help to guide the implementation of AI, machine learning, and analytics capabilities across the organization
- Support and bolster the data governance initiatives of the organization
Key Responsibilities
- Manages all IT infrastructure (servers, databases, networks) and ensures system stability, scalability, and performance.
- Supports internal IT systems, service desk and hardware needs for employees
- Handles cloud deployments and infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Manages data centers, network security and system maintenance.
- Manages integrations to IT systems including the banking core application
- Operational Efficiency: Ensuring that IT operations are efficient and effective, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance.
- Security and Compliance: Implementing robust security measures to protect the organization’s data and systems, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Responsible for bolstering Cyber Security from a 1 st line of defense perspective, such as ensuring that the bank has proper data leakage protection, proper ediscovery tools, zero trust strategies and proper firewalls in place.
- Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Vendor Management: Coordinating with external vendors and service providers to procure and manage technology solutions.
- Strategic Planning: Developing and executing long-term strategies for IT infrastructure to support the organization's goals and growth

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $235,000.00 – $250,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
