Client Service & Marketing Associate

Position Summary
SSI is seeking an Associate who will be primarily responsible for working closely with the Institutional Client Service and Marketing Team. Job duties may include supporting internal and external reporting requirements, data tracking and organization, producing presentation materials, completing RFPs and related and handling client reporting. Past experience automating reporting requirements is a plus. Database knowledge is also a plus. The Associate will develop a comprehensive understanding of SSI’s marketing materials, the performance of SSI’s strategies, the firm’s client relationship management database and handling of ad hoc requests. The candidate will liaise across departments including client service and marketing, compliance, and investment professionals. The role requires strong time management and organizational skills for a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. This position is hybrid, with our office located in Century City.
Position Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities of the Associate position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage and assist in client, prospect, and consultant reporting requests
- Ensure timely submission of accurate and current data to external databases
- Maintain internal tracking of key statistics
- Assist in the formatting, producing, and proofing of client servicing and marketing materials
- Ability to format, aggregate, maintain, and accurately update all delegated client service and marketing performance data (returns, assets, characteristics)
- Help manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) process based on existing materials, industry knowledge, and information provided by individuals from various departments
- Conduct market research and data manipulation, extraction and analysis from external databases, including, but not limited to Qvidian, Preqin, eVestment, FinSearch, Morningstar, Lipper
- Work closely with Client Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to ensure proper onboarding and execution of KYC / AML requirements
- Support the Sales team in managing client relationships, by responding to inquiries, providing ongoing communication/updates
Position Qualifications and Requirements (education, years of experience, other skills, etc.):
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
- High proficiency of Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/PowerBI)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with key systems such as Salesforce, Qvidian, Morningstar, FinSearches, Bloomberg, Preqin, and eVestment with knowledge of RIA platforms including Envestnet or Hightower
- Experience in marketing materials production, report creation, and generation
- Experience with the preparation, organization, and completion of RFPs and DDQs
- Experience analyzing financial data and metrics with sufficient familiarity to recognize potential issues and enhance procedures
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
- Resourceful, team-oriented, and collaborative, and must possess strong integrity and professionalism
- Self-starter who is excited to learn
- Familiarization with GIPS Standards is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required
