Asset Management
New York
Lazard is one of the world’s leading financial advisory and asset management firms.
Our people make the difference. With just over 3,000 employees, our tight-knit community allows for professionals eager to learn and willing to teach to connect and grow together. We believe that diversity, equity, inclusion, and allyship are not just business imperatives — they are central pillars of our employee experience. Our entrepreneurial culture and flat structure allow creative ideas and original concepts to drive our business forward — and for careers to take flight.
Our Recruiting Team is responsible for hiring for Lazard’s Asset Management and Corporate Support business areas. We hire at all levels; from interns through Managing Directors in the United States – full time and contract. We are a lean, high-impact and very client-facing team. We are looking for a dynamic recruiting professional to join us for a short term assignment, with potential for extension.
As a valued member of our team, we’ll trust you to:
- Manage our contingent workforce in the US. This of course includes hiring and onboarding, but also includes reconciling headcount and performance on an ongoing basis in order to reduce cost and minimize risk to the firm
- Create a framework for evaluating contract hires and resources to better assess project based vs longer term assignments
- Advocate for retaining high performing and long term consultants by converting to FTEs
- Own all reporting on behalf of team; from new hire compensation to ad hoc requests and forecasting requests from Finance
- Build process around agency and W2 providers, ensuring we have SLAs, best practices, and firm understanding of cost
- Build influential relationships with our hiring managers and recruit for contract and full time positions across business areas
- Proactively source for talent on LinkedIn and maintain candidate pipeline for reoccurring positions
- Own the recruitment process end to end (writing JDs, screening, interviewing, scheduling, offers, etc.)
- Maintain and process fee agreements for temp and perm roles for team – ensuring we have consistent fee agreement terms in place (in coordination with Legal)
- Streamline onboarding and hiring process of contractors; differentiate resource types and determine whether it should be managed by HR vs the business (self-service model, empowered by our new HCM)
- Be a consultative partner to the business and exercise outstanding judgement
- Demonstrate passionate commitment to our HR team, and to supporting and growing our business.
- Be a brand ambassador for the firm at recruiting-focused events and engagements
You will need to have:
- 2 or more years of experience working in Recruitment and HR as a consultative partner, with emphasis on building process and establishing best practices while recruiting for a high volume of roles
- Advanced sourcing abilities, with particular emphasis on converting LinkedIn prospects into candidates and hires
- Flexibility, professionalism, and positive attitude regardless of the assignment (pride in ownership – no job too big or small)
- A proactive approach to learning (self-motivated problem solving whether there’s a playbook or not) and intellectual curiosity
- A well-developed sense of urgency and strong work ethic (you can move quickly, thoughtfully)
- Ability to zoom in and get the details without missing the big picture
- Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with the business and influence hiring decisions
- Passionate commitment to hiring underrepresented talent via sourcing, partnerships, and more
- Exceptional EQ and professional presence in order to be client-facing and manage high-tough and senior clients and candidates
- Ability to anticipate what is next, shift gears quickly, and connect the dots
- Outstanding judgement and relationship management skills
- Previous experience with recruiting/financial reporting, contract recruiting, and vendor management strongly preferred
