Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Front Office Technology to drive the development of mission-critical systems used by Tudor personnel charged with generating revenue for our clients. This role will oversee the design, development, and support of front office systems, with a particular emphasis on macro trading systems and analytics. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of macro trading strategies, quantitative development, and a proven track record of managing globally dispersed teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of front office technology solutions to support portfolio managers (PMs) and trading desks across multiple asset classes, with a core focus on macro trading and interest rate products.
- Partner with portfolio managers, traders, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective technology solutions.
- Manage a globally dispersed team of 20+ technologists, including quantitative developers, fostering collaboration, innovation, high performance within a culture of accountability.
- Drive the continued adoption of modern agile development methodologies to ensure rapid, iterative delivery of high-quality software.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in Python, Java, C# and C++ development, ensuring best practices in code quality, performance, and reliability.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance management to team members, ensuring their professional development.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience supporting multiple portfolio managers (PMs) trading diverse asset classes.
- 5+ years of sell-side trading technology experience, with a strong emphasis on interest rate products.
- 5+ years of experience at a hedge fund or similar buy-side institution, supporting front office trading operations.
- Proven expertise in macro trading technology and deep business knowledge of major asset classes (e.g., fixed income, FX, equities, commodities), with a non-negotiable focus on macro trading.
Technical Expertise
- Expertise in streaming analytics technologies, caching technologies, WEB UI, and Excel trader tooling.
- Experience with high-performance computing and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and infrastructure.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, Java, C# and C++, with the ability to guide development teams and review code.
- Familiarity with modern agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps principles.
- Familiarity with database architecture including OLTP and OLAP principles and strong SQL query expertise
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (required).
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
