Job Overview
The Compensation & Rewards Specialist performs various functions in support of Lord Abbett’s total reward program by contributing to the overall compensation strategy, managing critical projects, and administering compensation programs. The role will analyze pay solutions relative to industry practices and will analyze comp through internal- and market-observations, industry surveys, and leader feedback, to aid the administration of the company’s total reward program.
We’ll Trust You To
- Support critical project work including but not limited to: Mapping and leveling the employee base to market hierarchies, modeling and assessing deferred comp alternatives, supporting the development of a compensation toolkit to support leader-led processes.
- Calibrate market comp ranges for open roles and new hires.
- Assess variances of firm/area/employee pay to market compensation.
- Review alignment of pay-and-performance, over time and during year-end.
- Support the development of special incentives (carried interest, co-investment, and/or phantom plans)
- Maintain and audit historical employee-level compensation details.
- Responsible for socializing role and pay changes to internal partners – collaborating with the FP&A/Comp Accounting/Payroll team on movements related to the population.
- Provide support in the administration of the organization’s year-end program.
- Responsible for maintaining and building management reports, trackers, and databases.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive compensation and/or financial data.
- Perform other duties as assigned within compensation, benefits, and human resources.
You'll Need To Have
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Mathematics, Economics, or Accounting; require some years (2-4 years) of related work experience.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with standard concepts and practices in the human resources / compensation field.
- Strong judgment: Must have the ability to make decisions with conviction within the context of fluid information.
- Computer skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Related HR technology and/or systems experience is a plus.
- Research skills: Must possess a strong aptitude for research, analysis, and data management.
- People skills: Must possess the ability to influence and maintain relationships.
- Communications skills: Possess excellent communication skills.
- Discretion: Must possess the ability to maintain and protect sensitive data.
- Self-starter: Must possess the ability to work independently, while exercising proper judgment and sound decision making.
- Detail-oriented: Require meticulous diligence to achieve an elevated level of accuracy.
- Organizational skills: Require the ability to set priorities and effectively manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $140,000-$165,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
