Job Overview
The Alternative Products Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role within the team, overseeing the daily operational activities for Alternative Investments, including BDCs, CLOs, and Interval Funds. This role is integral to the development and adoption of Lord Abbett's Alternative product suite. The successful candidate will ensure efficient transaction processing, maintain intermediary platform connectivity, and uphold regulatory compliance, all while delivering exceptional service to clients and stakeholders.
Additionally, the Specialist will contribute to shaping the operational framework of new products and customized solutions. This includes selecting service providers, defining product processes, and integrating key data. The role requires close collaboration with various functions to deliver and manage products that meet the needs of Lord Abbett's global Institutional and Wealth Management clients.
We’ll Trust You To
- Collaborate closely with portfolio management, product strategy, distribution, legal, marketing, and compliance teams to ensure that our Alternative products are readily available and easily accessible to shareholders through our intermediary partners.
- Manage product initiatives to ensure new and existing products meet client operational and regulatory requirements.
- Build and enhance relationships with Custodians, Transfer Agents, key Wirehouse/Broker-Dealer home offices, and third-party vendors to accelerate product availability and data transparency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to review and implement broker-dealer and placement agent agreements.
- Ensure efficient transaction processing and reconciliation for both Alternative Investments and Interval Funds by key service providers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Transfer Agency / Intermediary Firm issues and escalated items.
- Lead the operational development of new products and customized solutions.
- Ensure all product operations comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Oversee operational components of product launches, capital activity, corporate actions, and communications.
- Coordinate with representatives from each distribution function to address ongoing projects, emerging ideas, issues.
- Partner with CS Technology to continuously evaluate and automate operational processes and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Provide operational support during audits and inspections.
- Conduct market and competitive intelligence to inform product development.
- Identify trends in inquiries and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Assist with special projects and internal ad hoc requests as needed.
You'll Need To Have
- 7+ years in the asset management industry, with a focus on alternatives and product management.
- Strong knowledge of alternative product offerings and wealth management distribution channels.
- Proven track record in supporting product development, including creating, launching, and supporting various investment vehicles.
- Relevant experience in technology strategy, leading technology innovation, and effective leadership of a high-performing technology organization.
- Experience building infrastructure that supports global distribution.
- Experience with operational processes, best practices, and industry standards.
- Ability to translate and articulate technical, operational, and regulatory information into understandable terms.
- Experience with vendor relationship management and handling large-scale contract negotiations.
- Capable of building strong professional relationships with an ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated skills in driving results and surpassing goals.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $130,000-$160,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
