Our Accounting team oversees the company’s financial well-being and supports operational and business planning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are entrusted to properly account for and report the business activity at our large and growing company.
As a US Real Estate Operations Accounting Manager in our Denver office, you will lead a team of property accountants. The Property Accounting Centralized Team (PACT) Manager will manage the team responsible for all aspects of centralized accounting functions including allocations, bad debt, sales tax, direct bills, acquisitions and dispositions, and general ledger (GL) reclasses. The NOI Manager will be responsible for preparing net operating income (NOI) variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and providing customer service to the RECX team via the accounting helpdesk. While both roles are part of the same high-performing department, each brings unique responsibilities and opportunities for leadership and innovation.
You will play a critical role in coaching and developing your team, driving process improvements, and ensuring a high standard of service and accuracy in financial reporting. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, with the ability to align team efforts to broader departmental goals while fostering a results-driven and customer-focused culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the daily operations of the accounting team.
- Review account reconciliations prepared by the team, escalating complex cases to the Property Accounting Senior as needed.
- Foster a team culture focused on continuous improvement, development, and operational excellence.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to direct reports.
- Encourage innovation and a curious mindset within the team, challenging outdated practices and exploring new approaches.
- Model empathy, emotional intelligence, and a supportive leadership style that fosters individual growth and high team morale.
- Champion a strong culture of accountability and ownership of outcomes
PACT Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review key financial activities including bad debt, allocations, sales tax, and acquisition/disposition accounting for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the cleanup and resolution of outstanding balances related to direct bills, GL accounts receivable (GLAR), and GL security deposits (GLSD).
- Understand all processes related to the team’s tasks and work to identify and improve communication and processes across the accounting teams.
NOI Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review property-level NOI variance analysis prepared by the team.
- Ensure high-quality customer service on the property accounting helpdesk, overseeing resolution metrics and accountability.
- Facilitate monthly RECX meetings and collaborate with RECX leads to resolve outstanding issues.
Building blocks for success
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of progressive experience, preferably at a large multi-entity company and / or public accounting firm.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word) and reporting systems (PeopleSoft and Yardi Property Management experience preferred).
- Demonstrated strong analytical thinking, process improvement capabilities, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including performance coaching and team development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues clearly across levels and functions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align team goals with broader business objectives.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to lead with empathy while holding teams accountable.
- Track record of delivering high-quality customer service and building effective cross-functional relationships.
- Curious and improvement-oriented mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
Hiring Salary Range of: $110,000 - $151,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
