The Product Structuring and Launch department is responsible for oversight of activities spanning the product development lifecycle, including: (i) incubation of new product ideas, (ii) vetting new product concepts in concert with the Chief Product Officer and Management Committee, (iii) defining structure and terms for funds and bespoke mandates, and (iv) coordination of pre- and post-launch activities for new product initiatives.
The Launch Manager will report to the Head of Product Structuring & Launch, while working closely with a broad group of Oaktree constituents comprised of investment and non-investment teams, including marketing and client relations, corporate development, legal, compliance, accounting, tax, and trade support. Selected responsibilities include:
Product Development
- Partner with marketing representatives, investment professionals, product specialists, and other internal stakeholders to research, propose and implement new product ideas, bespoke client solutions or new investor channels for product distribution
- Contribute to the definition of terms, pricing, and positioning of new products
- Research and prepare analyses regarding competitive landscape and market trends
- Develop financial models that assess Corporate and fund-level profitability for new product offerings
- Conduct the lookback analysis of products launched and identify lessons learned for future product offerings
Launch Management
- Provide project management oversight for fund launch and account onboarding activities, covering fundraise preparedness and operating model design
- Set up and deliver new products related to Oaktree’s headline funds and bespoke mandates
- Partner with cross-functional teams on operational readiness in advance of fund closings
- Maintain a firmwide view of new product initiatives (“New Product Pipeline”)
- Monitor and maintain record of product fees, terms, and structures
- Promote engagement and awareness of new product initiatives across stakeholder groups firmwide
Experience required:
- 8+ years of relevant product management, alternative investment or operational due diligence experience, candidates with investment or intermediary consulting experience preferred;
- Understanding of all aspects of product development, vehicles/structures, positioning and implementation within the asset management industry;
- Experience with conducting industry research and general competitive landscape analysis;
- Experience with financial modelling and sensitivity analyses that incorporate various investment fee structures and expense concepts;
- Ability to acquire thorough knowledge of the legal, accounting, compliance, tax structuring and investment aspects of the investment products offered by Oaktree;
- Highly resourceful; ability to exercise superior judgment regarding investor requests: to interpret them, ask appropriate questions, conduct due diligence, and only expend internal resources of the firm for the most relevant, needed situations;
- Experience with operating a function and/or designing or improving processes; and
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree (major in Finance, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred). MBA or CFA a plus.
Base Salary Range
$200,000 - $225,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
