We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Performance Manager to lead a small team focused on investment performance measurement and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards) compliance and have hands-on experience with performance composites. This role will include managing the relationship with our outsourced provider, State Street, collaborating closely within the operations group at Lazard, and partnering internally with sales, marketing, compliance, and portfolio management teams.
We’ll trust you to:
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and reporting of performance composites, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry regulations and the GIPS standards.
- Ensure observance with industry best practices in the calculation, presentation, and verification of portfolio and strategy performance.
- Manage a lean team performance analysts, with a focus on career development, collegiality, and professional growth.
- Manage the relationship with our outsourced provider of performance reporting, ensuring timely and accurate performance data.
- Work closely across LAM operations teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of performance-related operations.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and portfolio management teams to provide insights and data for performance-related projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on performance objectives and strategies.
- Lead performance-related projects from conception to completion.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance performance measurement methodologies and technologies.
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree, CIPM, or CFA designation is a plus.
- At least 7 years of experience in investment performance measurement, with a strong background in GIPS compliance and performance composites.
- Proficiency in performance calculation methodologies and portfolio risk statistics.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a small team.
- Experience with outsourced service providers, particularly in performance measurement contexts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in performance measurement software and tools; familiarity with State Street’s systems is a plus.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately 150,000 - 200,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Asset Management’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
