Position Summary
This position sits in Carlyle's Investment Solutions segment, in the office of the Global Head of Investment Solutions. The individual will provide broad support to senior executives reporting to the head of Investment Solutions, and will work with Carlyle's senior leadership team, operations and administrative professionals, and global Investment Solutions investment professionals across a broad range of strategic, tactical and operational matters. This includes growth initiatives, potential M&A transactions, or operational initiatives in support of development.
This position can be based in New York, NY or Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support new initiatives as determined by senior leadership including collaborating across global and domestic departments within the firm;
- Support analysis/assessment of new business initiatives including support of strategic initiatives and transactional activities (principal balance sheet investments)
- Support strategic, tactical and operational improvement initiatives throughout the Investment Solutions organization including identification, analysis and executional responsibility;
- Perform financial modelling, including scenario and sensitivity analysis;
- Meeting management for senior executives including preparing analysis and briefing materials, participating in meetings and supporting any required follow up;
- Contribute to presentations for internal and external investor meetings and conferences;
- Monitor, research, analyze and report on financial, macroeconomic and industry data and trends.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree with strong performance from a top undergraduate institution. Concentration in business, economics, finance or statistics preferred.
- 2-4 years of related experience, preferably in consulting, investment banking, or transaction services.
Professional Experience
- Ability to perform market analysis and qualitative research
- Adept in Excel and the overall financial valuation and modeling process
- Solid understanding of and ability to model capital structures, including senior debt, mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and common equity
- Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple and changing priorities
- Ability to quickly and efficiently perform tasks, maintaining a focus on details
- Ability to assess qualitative and quantitative characteristics of investments
- Work experience in investing, consulting, or financing

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York, NY and Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
