Job Summary:
Under general direction of the VP Alternative Investments Platform Management, with a high level of autonomy, leads the PIC private markets operational team day-to-day, including all deal-related operations activity such as referral agreement negotiations with sponsors, deal set-up, live deal support and post-deal activities; and business operations such as vendor relations, RJNet content updates, marketing support and working with Compliance.
Deal Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts negotiations on behalf of PIC team, working with RJ Legal and PIC Origination team, to negotiate and execute Referral Agreements with sponsors and issuers. These agreements are required for all PIC deals that have been approved by the PIC Product Review Committee (PPRC), and must be in place before Distribution can promote deals to advisors and their clients.
- Manages and coordinates operational set-up and launch of all Private Markets transactions offered on PIC platform, in a compliant manner, and ensuring expectations are set appropriately with sponsors/issuers regarding set-up, nature and frequency of ongoing live deal interactions and post-deal requirements.
- Leads the team that supports advisors and clients completing all internal RJ PIC-related paperwork required, for client pre-qualification and PIC account opening, prior to clients executing PIC transactions.
- Oversees the processes for post-deal activity, including invoicing, collecting referral fees and tracking PIC deal-related assets held away.
Business Operations
- Works with vendors used in various parts of the PIC value chain, either directly, e.g., Datasite for deal room capability, or through investment banking who performs contracting and relationship management on behalf of PIC, e.g., DealCloud for deal management and CRM, and Pitchbook for deal due diligence.
- Works with Compliance to ensure the team operates in a compliant manner, ensuring the procedures remain up to date, and collaborates with Compliance, the Forms team and IT to update PIC processes as needed.
- Works with Marketing and the PIC Distribution team to update marketing collateral and RJNet content, and with the MyLearning team for the PIC Education module for advisors.
- Provides reporting updates on PIC business for senior management for mid-year, end of year and on an ad hoc basis as needed.
Other
- Communicates regularly in a clear, concise and relevant manner to review progress, escalate issues and provide feedback to senior managers and other interested parties (e.g., Legal, Distribution, Origination, Compliance) regarding deals.
- May get involved in projects from time to time.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Experienced professional with seven (7) years or more experience in the financial services, legal, or consulting industry.
- An MBA or relevant Masters degree is not required, but preferred.
- A legal background is not required, but experience working with lawyers preferred.

Licenses/Certifications
- FINRA 7/63 and supervisory 9/10 or 24 preferred.
