POSITION PURPOSE:
As the Director of IT Procurement, you will focus on driving vendor contracting and purchasing strategies to enhance operational efficiency, impose service levels, control costs, maintain compliance and meet key performance metrics. This role will design, implement, execute and oversee procurement policies and practices to enable CIM’s broader business goals. This role will work cross-functionally with the CTO, Legal, Finance, IT Product Managers and other key business stakeholders to ensure vendor selections, contract terms, contract approvals and purchase orders are managed efficiently, compliantly and in support of CIM’s business needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Manage the full lifecycle of vendor procurement transactions, including new products and renewals, from contract review and approval through purchasing and fulfillment. Align procurement activities with overall department and business goals to enhance operational excellence
- Oversee end-to-end procurement of hardware, software solutions, and subscription services
- Oversee and track all IT vendor contract reviews and approvals aligned with the vendor management program
- Partner with Technology Product Managers to proactively manage vendor negotiations, renewals and related contracts, ensuring that all vendor relationships support business goals and CIM’s best interest
- Partner with Legal, CTO and other key stakeholders to proactively drive alignment on vendor contract terms and fees. Review all hardware and software vendor contract terms in detail, and provide relevant recommendations and considerations
- Oversee hardware and software vendor onboarding, including routing and managing contracts and renewals through contract approval, signature and completion
- Manage Yardi P2P Purchase Ordering through first-level invoice approvals
- Oversee vendor delivery, ordering and tracking processes. Ensure that equipment and software provided gets delivered timely, effectively supports employee and business productivity, and aligns with IT Service Management programming
- In partnership with the IT Service Management team, oversee processes, procedures and systems for tracking and delivering software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through retirement
- Partner with VP, IT Service Management to review and select equipment that best supports business operations
- Track software licenses aligned with the IT service catalogue and user inventory
- Identify and implement corporate-wide cost-saving opportunities and strategies for supplier-related expenses
- Support Technology Leadership in managing strategic partnerships to consolidate supplier products and reduce service costs while enhancing value
- Proactively manage inventory and equipment upgrade needs by tracking entire life cycle for each asset, maintaining warranty information, refresh date, and end-of-life data information
- Align with Service Management team to account for IT assets throughout the enterprise, utilizing relevant tools and proactively manage all assets within the organization and affiliate companies
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Management of IT Procurement/Purchasing Specialist(s)
- Ongoing management of vendor relationships, including pricing, budgets, contracts, service and delivery. Large vendor relationship management will be a shared responsibility with other leaders within the IT department and across the business
- Oversight of IT contract workflow aligned with operations, legal and executive approvals and follow up through contract execution
- Project management and/or oversight of subscriptions and software delivery programs and license inventory, as relevant
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)- 8+ years relevant experience in IT contracts, procurement and/or purchasing with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or similar
- IT Procurement knowledge of contract language and terms, including licensing models, risk management and compliance requirements for hardware, software, cloud services and SaaS contracts
- Experience implementing secure AI solutions for contracting efficiency and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and processes a plus
- Experience with Purchase Order and Inventory systems with experience in Yardi P2P and ServiceNow preferred
- Experience with commercial real estate data subscription providers (ex: Bloomberg, Yardi, CoStar) a plus
- Strong IT project management skills are essential, including the ability to manage scope, timelines, and budgets effectively
- PMP, CPM, or similar certification is a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Vendor management and sourcing strategy with solid relationship management skills interacting horizontally and vertically across organizations and with vendors
- Excellent analytical skills with good financial acumen to assess and respond to bids, proposals and vendor performance for TCO evaluation
- Detail oriented + paralegal-level contract reviewing skills (i.e. robust experience deeply reviewing and marking up IT contracts)

- Strong organizational, planning, time management, and project management skills to coordinate effective, efficient, and timely completion of multiple ongoing or long-term projects and efforts while reconciling and prioritizing them with day-to-day departmental operations

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles, CA is $135,000 - $185,000.
