Position Summary
The Carlyle Group's Global Private Equity (GPE) team within the Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) organization is seeking an experienced, business-savvy Data & Reporting Product Manager to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of our enterprise data and reporting platforms. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across Deal Teams and Fund Management.
You will own and enhance a robust suite of reporting solutions powered by Snowflake, Power BI, Seismic, UpSlide, SQL, and Excel-based tools, and partner with business stakeholders and data engineers to deliver trusted, scalable insights across the private equity lifecycle. You will also manage business analysts, lead Agile ceremonies, and be accountable for maintaining Jira to support backlog management and transparency throughout the Agile SDLC.
You will manage and support reporting related to fund performance, portfolio company financials and KPIs, valuations, budgeting & forecasting, pipeline activity, and operational metrics. Data flows through and from a variety of systems including Anaplan, Chronograph, Salesforce, DealCloud, and proprietary platforms integrated via Snowflake.
While business analysts are responsible for writing business requirements, the Product Manager is accountable for ensuring that requirements reflect true business needs and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Roadmap
- Own the strategic roadmap for data and reporting capabilities supporting Deal Teams and Fund Management.
- Translate business objectives into actionable user stories, epics, and prioritized backlogs.
- Ensure business requirements written by analysts align with strategic goals and user needs.
- Manage and continuously groom the product backlog in Jira, ensuring it reflects priority, scope, and dependencies.
- Partner with GTS and business teams to enhance reporting built on data from platforms such as Anaplan, Chronograph, Salesforce, DealCloud, and Snowflake.
Data Accessibility & Reporting Delivery
- Oversee delivery of standardized and ad hoc reporting across data domains such as:
- Fund and deal performance
- Portfolio company financials and KPIs
- Valuations and business updates
- Budgeting, forecasting, and pipeline activity
- Ensure consistency, data accuracy, and availability across all dashboards and reporting tools.
- Lead and support reporting during high-impact cycles (e.g., quarterly valuation, performance updates, audits).
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership
- Partner closely with Fund Management and Deal Teams to understand reporting workflows and data pain points.
- Manage business analysts, providing guidance on requirements development and stakeholder communication.
- Lead Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, standups, grooming, retrospectives) to drive delivery.
- Own Jira configuration and usage to enable transparency and coordination across the Agile SDLC.
Governance & Data Stewardship
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to maintain clean, trustworthy pipelines and curated datasets.
- Champion data quality controls, metadata management, and business glossary development.
- Drive adoption of consistent definitions, calculation logic, and reporting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; focus in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in product management, data analytics, or business intelligence roles.
- Experience managing business analysts and overseeing requirements development.
- Proven leadership in Agile product delivery, including backlog ownership and Jira administration.
- Expertise in reporting platforms and tools: Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Seismic, Excel/UpSlide.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Anaplan, Chronograph, Salesforce, and DealCloud.
- Deep understanding of financial and operational reporting within private equity or financial services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting deal teams or fund operations in a private equity or asset management firm.
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL pipelines, and cloud data warehouse design.
- Exposure to data governance frameworks, security, and compliance practices.
- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional alignment.
Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
