OVERVIEW:
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join its growing global Middle Office function. This team supports the lifecycle of the firm’s global trading strategies and serves as a key link between the front office and operational teams. This role offers the opportunity to help drive trade support, manage cross-functional communication, and contribute to process improvements in a collaborative, forward-thinking, and inclusive environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
Act as the primary point of contact for trading desk inquiries, supporting and coordinating post-trade operations across multiple asset classes and strategies.
- Partner with trading desks, technology, and operations to enhance operational processes, controls, data quality, and mitigate risk.
- Develop workflows, dashboards, and tools to monitor trading activity, ensure knowledge continuity, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to projects that expand middle office capabilities and the firm’s ability to seamlessly support new investment strategies or asset classes.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A bachelor’s degree and five to ten years of relevant experience in financial operations or trade support.
- An excellent understanding of trade lifecycle operations, including trade capture, P&L, security master, and settlement processes.
- Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with a keen desire to grow and take ownership in a dynamic setting.
- Experience managing front office inquiries and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
- The ability to design or contribute to dashboards and analytics for operational insights.
- Familiarity with financial software such as Bloomberg, IHSMarkit, or Capital IQ; comfort with tools used in middle/back-office environments.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
