We are currently seeking a Fixed Income Trade Settlements Associate on our IS&T team with a focus on complex products.
Responsibilities:
- Clear or settle equity, fixed income, and foreign security trades.
- Resolve trade settlement exceptions with counterparty working with front office trading. Manage trade settlement fails.
- Reconcile depository cash activity and positions top day and cumulative next day to the general ledger.
- Train on being fully capable backups for DTC and MBS/TBA trade settlements functions.
- Settle municipal underwritings and uninsured to insured transactions.
- Communicate cash funding requirements to cash management.
- Validate and instruct on cash wires.
- Resolve exceptions for trade fails reporting on DTCC Obligation Warehouse.
- Actively participate in industry and vendor calls to achieve best practices.
- Perform project work to improve on processes through leveraging of technology resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years in trade settlements, with a strong emphasis on complex fixed income products (e.g., derivatives, structured products, and other non-standard securities).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for handling data analysis and managing settlement-related tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of trade settlements.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative in completing tasks and solving problems, particularly when dealing with complex settlement processes.
- Proficiency in Pershing NetX 360 is preferred, with experience in using the platform for trade settlement and reconciliation tasks.
- Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service, with strong communication skills to address client inquiries, resolve issues, and manage expectations, particularly related to complex product settlements.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently and also within a team environment.
In accordance with the Illinois’s Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $75,000 and $100,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a commission and discretionary performance bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
