We are looking to hire an Investor Relations and Business Development Analyst to support our Investor Relations and Business Development teams. As part of a growing firm, the Investor Relations and Business Development Analyst will work evenly across Investor Relations and Business Development to support our interactions with prospective and existing investors on a daily basis. This individual will play a key role in helping execute fundraising initiatives, manage investor communications, and support relationship management efforts with current and prospective investors. The Investor Relations and Business Development Analyst will be ambitious, hardworking and a quick learner who enjoys contributing to a demanding, non-hierarchical, start-up environment and is looking to work in an active fundraising environment while also contributing to strategic efforts across the Firm.
This Analyst will need to have strong project management abilities, the ability to digest, interpret and present data effectively, the ability to own and manage a project independently from start to finish, and a deep attention to detail. Suitable candidates will have a first-class academic background combined with 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Previous exposure to private credit, private equity or other alternative investments is preferred. This role is based in Boston, MA.
Role Description:
- Support the Investor Relations and Business Development teams by assisting in both investor and business development/fundraising efforts
- Maintain the CRM through daily data input, weekly reporting, firmwide dashboards and all day-to-day data governance upkeep and management
- Enhance CRM reporting to maintain up-to-date comprehensive coverage for all relationships
- Coordinate and create presentation materials for investor meetings, including support of client onsite visits
- Provide support to the Business Development team with respect to day-to-day support in managing communications, coordinating meetings, and driving process efficiency across fundraising and investor outreach efforts
- Organize and maintain all investor level, fund level and firm level data for Investor Relations and Business Development teams to easily access and manipulate
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to accurately identify and coordinate territories and pipelines across the team
- Draft and send high-level correspondence on behalf of the Investor Relations and Business Development teams
- Track relevant conferences, prepare research for team members attending, and ensure consistent follow-up with leads after events
- Assist in organizing group events, such as conference calls or product presentations, ensuring all event details are tracked in the CRM and follow-ups are completed
- Monitor inbound investor requests, coordinate timely responses with multiple internal teams, and facilitate completion of investor deliverables
- Track investor pipeline activity and help compile regular internal updates and reports
- Complete recurring investor reporting request and investor questionnaires on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Update monthly and quarterly marketing collateral
- Draft presentations, case studies and other material for new funds
- Maintain various consultant and performance databases
- Work independently with the Finance team to request data, interpret data, and present data across different investment strategies for each individual client and prospect request
- Work collaboratively across teams (investment, operations, Investor Relations) to support Business Development initiatives
Skills, Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years of previous experience in a client-facing role at an accounting or financial services/asset management firm
- Credit knowledge strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills, strong project management skills, extremely detail oriented
- Experience manipulating large data sets with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.
- Experience using a CRM system effectively
- Ability to independently analyze information and data and solve problems creatively
- Team oriented with an ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively across the firm
- Ability to own and manage a project from start to finish with little assistance
- Proven business writing ability with excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in an environment of tight deadline and high-quality standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
