Working as part of a team of traders, which are embedded in the Investment Team, the primary responsibility for the Junior Trader is to assist the trading desk implement PanAgora’s investment decisions while handling the daily support functions of the team. This position will report to the Director of Equities responsible for trading.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform administrative assignments:
- Interact with trading operations to ensure data integrity
- Reconcile post-trade details with the brokerage community to ensure proper settlement of executions, as a primary responsibility
- Learn how to execute orders in global markets to ensure portfolios are properly positioned.
- Communicate trade performance, relevant news and market activity, and trading strategy to the Investment Team
- Perform transaction cost research to enhance the firm’s trading capabilities and increase the team’s electronic trading capabilities, as a secondary responsibility.
Essential Skills:
- 1+ years of experience working on or supporting a trading desk in an operations role
- Knowledge of equity markets and equity trading
- Programming and Data science skills including knowledge of python and SQL required
- Investment Operations knowledge a plus
- Experience with an OMS and EMS such as Enfusion and/or Newport a plus
- BA or BS degree required: major in finance, computer sciences, operations management, engineering, mathematics or similar discipline is preferred
- Progress towards the CFA designation or advanced degree a plus.
- Team player; willingness to work with people at all levels to promote the common interest, willingness to work tirelessly toward the achievement of both departmental and personal goals
