Oaktree’s Risk Reporting & Analytics(“RRA") team is looking for a Vice President to play a leading role in Oaktree’s private credit middle office, including for its Global Opportunities and Global Private Debt strategies The Vice President will work closely with investment professionals, legal and compliance, accounting and tax, deal operations, and investment reporting teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with fund structures and terms common to alternative investment markets, private credit data and reporting, as well as portfolio company KPIs (candidates with extensive experience in broadly syndicated loan (BSL) markets, including in trading, settlements, administration, and technology may also be considered). We are seeking an analytical and industrious professional with a passion for private credit, investment operations, data, and portfolio monitoring.
The individual is expected to be a subject matter expert in the private credit investment lifecycle, with a deep understanding of the processes, documentation, data management, and counterparty communication required to execute transactions and administer assets post-close. In this capacity, they will manage deal closings, deal reporting and analytics, and help create tools to monitor investment risk and aid portfolio management.
Responsibilities include
- Collecting, organizing and managing data and information about prospective and existing investments to support portfolio management decisions, investor reporting, investor diligence and portfolio construction;
- Driving the effort to build and enhance the analytical frameworks and tools to support monitoring and reporting for Oaktree’s private credit businesses;
- Participating in data collection to support the valuation of existing investments;
- Acting as key point person on our private credit deal-closing activities:
- Providing investment allocations consistent with policy and client guidelines
- Facilitating funding and transaction settlement
- Assisting in cash management and liquidity planning
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to ensure accurate and efficient deal fundings, asset set up, investment monitoring and reporting accuracy
- Overseeing various aspects of our loan agency function and ongoing investment activities, including:
- Assist in managing all banking, custodian and facility relationships across the credit platform
- Oversee outside stakeholder reporting and communication with banks, rating agencies, co-investors, auditors, or other parties
- Monitoring investment positions to ensure all coupon/royalty/other payments have been received and expected drawdowns are executed on time
- Assisting investment team with tracking of company-level data including financials, covenant compliance or other information rights
- Partnering with the portfolio reporting teams to review quarterly valuations and marketing materials for accuracy
- Developing a complete understanding of the roles and responsibilities, systems and processes across each internal functional group, and serve as a central point of contact between the Investment Team and the back office; and
- Partnering with investment professionals, outside and internal counsel, tax, accounting and compliance professionals to ensure good cross-functional communication and coordination throughout the investment process.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience at an asset management company, investment bank or other financial services company
- 5+ years of experience in private credit investment operations and middle-office support, including experience reviewing private credit documents (credit agreements, amendments, etc.) for key terms, data points and operational nuances (similar roles in loan trading, settlements, administration, and technology for broadly syndicated loans (BSLs) may be viewed as a substitute).
- Experience managing settlements for private investments and/or BSLs - including U.S. and international money movement and physical certificate registration.
- Experience across various types of loans and Loan Agency experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of private credit fund concepts across a range of strategies, including corporate direct lending, real estate lending, and specialty lending. Extensive knowledge of BSL market, including new issues workflows, trading platforms, settlement and administration norms may be viewed as a substitute.
- Experience with industry technology used in supporting private lending and/or BSL strategies.
- Strong technical skills such as SQL, PowerBI and Python are required
- Outstanding communication skills to work cross-functionally and at all levels internally.
- Basic understanding of accounting and tax principles and concepts

Base Salary Range
$185,000 - $225,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
