We’re seeking a highly strategic and operationally strong
Chief Operating Officer to support the
Chief Product and Innovation Officer and Executive Committee member. This role will play a pivotal part in advancing BNY’s innovation agenda—focused on leveraging Platforms, data, and cross-enterprise capabilities to deliver client-centric solutions that anticipate capital markets trends and accelerate growth. This role will be located in New York, NY – Hybrid
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Serve as a strategic and operational right hand to the Chief Product and Innovation Officer, helping to translate high-level vision into actionable initiatives
- Oversee daily operations of the Product and Innovation Office, including product pipeline tracking and prioritization, internal governance, execution roadmaps, workforce planning, inputs to QPRs, and financials
- Align Product and Innovation Office priorities with BNY’s broader strategic pillar of “being more for our clients” by operationalizing product ideas into scalable, revenue-generating solutions
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial leadership teams to accelerate delivery of client-centric solutions
- Identify operational pain points or bottlenecks and proactively design solutions to increase speed-to-market, collaboration, and business impact
- Manage communications, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the Executive Committee and other senior leadership forums
- Foster a high-performance culture by supporting team structure, talent priorities, and management of staff
- Enable fast, effective decision-making across the product life-cycle—from ideation to commercialization—by implementing clear frameworks, milestones, and accountability structures
- Lead strategic projects and high-priority initiatives on behalf of the Chief Product and Innovation Officer, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth objectives
- Drive communication strategy and internal storytelling to build momentum around Product and Innovation Office success and institutionalize learnings
- Support budgeting, resource planning, and ROI analysis for innovation programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and cost-efficiency goals
- Champion an inclusive, innovative, and execution-oriented team culture; support hiring, onboarding, and mentorship for the broader innovation function
To Be Successful In This Role, We’re Seeking
- 10+ years of experience in product strategy, business operations, or executive office roles within financial services or adjacent sectors
- Strong understanding of capital markets, investment products, and digital innovation trends
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, align, and empower cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and complex initiatives with executive visibility
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting C-suite executives and managing sensitive, high-impact strategic initiatives
- MBA and CFA preferred

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $300,000 - $350,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
