TITLE: CFO/Sr. Controller - Private Credit
LOCATION: New York City
REPORTING TO: Global CFO of Funds
COMPANY:A global alternative investment firm (over $50B AUM) managing a diversified platform of private credit and private equity strategies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage all financial operations for the private credit platform, including fund accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, and audit processes
- Partner with investment teams to support deal execution, structuring, and performance analytics
- Oversee third-party fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead annual audits, valuation processes, and regulatory reporting across fund and management company entities
- Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic planning and investor reporting
- Support capital raising activities with timely and accurate financial information for investor due diligence
- Ensure strong internal controls, operational efficiency, and scalability of financial systems and processes
- Provide thought leadership on best practices in private credit fund finance and assist in evaluating new product launches or market expansions
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPA required
- Minimum 12 years of relevant finance experience, including leadership roles within private credit, direct lending, or broader alternative investments
- Deep knowledge of fund structures, credit instruments, and operational complexities associated with private credit vehicles (e.g., BDCs, closed-end funds, SMAs)
- Prior experience working with institutional investors and fund administrators
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, fund accounting, and valuation practices
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate across departments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel periodically (including to investor meetings, fund administrator sites, or affiliate offices)
