Team / Division Overview
The Client Due Diligence (CDD) Team operates as part of Client & Investment Monitoring (CIM) within the DWS CAO Division. The team has a global footprint and plays a vital role in supporting the Client Coverage Division, ensuring that all new client onboardings and ongoing regular or event-driven reviews comply with regulatory AML/S&E requirements and internal policies.
The team collaborates with multiple stakeholders, including Client Coverage, Anti-Financial Crime, Client Onboarding, Legal, and other stakeholders, to implement DB/DWS’ Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Client (KYC) and Sanction & Embargo (S&E) processes.
Role Details
As a/an CCD Manager, you will (be):
- Review and verify client documentation, including legal and corporate documents, to identify discrepancies or potential risks.
- Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk client relationships, ensuring that all identified risk-factors are well-documented and escalated as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all KYC-related activities, findings, and supporting documents in compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
- Monitor ongoing client relationships by conducting periodic reviews and event-driven refreshes to ensure continued compliance with KYC requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Client Coverage & Anti-Financial Crime to address KYC-related inquiries and resolve complex cases.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in AML/KYC regulations and ensure implementation of new requirements in the processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to enhance the team's overall expertise and performance.
- Support in handling ad-hoc requests as well as in the context of projects, audits, and initiatives
We are looking for:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a KYC, AML, or compliance-related role within the financial services industry. Previous experience with client due diligence processes in an asset management firm is highly desirable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of global AML/KYC regulations, including FATF recommendations, the USA PATRIOT Act, and local compliance requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyse complex client structures, identify potential risks, and provide actionable insights for mitigating such risks.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all aspects of KYC reviews and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Problem-solving Ability: A proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and find effective solutions promptly.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with KYC-related tools and systems (e.g. Salesforce, Fircosoft, RDC), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, law, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) are a plus.
- Teamwork: A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
