Description
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with control private equity experience, ideally leading special situations, turnaround, and/or carve-out investments. As a cornerstone of the team, the Vice President will play an integral role in all aspects of the portfolio management process from underwriting and diligence to working with portfolio company management teams to drive the value creation process. As a small team, we rely on each member of the deal team to play an outsized role and pride ourselves on the broad exposure and opportunities for development and growth. This is a hybrid position working 4 days a week from our Chicago office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the investment analysis, due diligence, and underwriting process for new investments
- Work with portfolio company management teams and Boards of Directors on various initiatives to drive value and earnings growth
- Assume primary responsibility for multiple portfolio companies. Work closely with portfolio company management to develop and actively monitor execution of detailed strategic plans (including key value creation initiatives, detailed financial models, KPIs, milestones and exit planning)
- Lead the identification, recruitment, and onboarding of key portfolio company executives
- Provide detailed weekly updates to Monroe leadership
- Support a collegial and non-hierarchical senior team
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or management consultancy, preferably with M&A experience
- 4+ years of investing experience, preferably at a private equity firm
- Strong accounting, finance, modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills supported by a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree with a competitive GPA from an academically respected university. MBA, CFA or other relevant graduate degree or certification a plus
- Willingness to work in a flat team environment with dynamic roles

Compensation: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $150-200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
