Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Banking in New York, NY
Conduct financial analysis, strategic business analysis, and detailed industry research. Analyze financial statements, and build and review financial models for new investment opportunities. Develop financial models, and perform corporate and project valuation using different methodologies. Conduct due diligence. Perform valuation on behalf of clients for potential new investments. Draft reports to clients. Execute corporate finance transactions. Perform company research, for both client companies and their competitors. Contribute to team discussions and client meetings. Analyze financial statements of client companies and their competitors to understand main valuation drivers. Mentor analysts on the development of financial models and discuss with the senior team the underlying assumptions of the models and the valuation methodologies used. Draw conclusions from the valuation exercise and present the findings to senior members of the team.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $275,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements
Requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Financial Analyst, Investment Strategist, or a closely related occupation. Requires three (3) years of experience with: analysis of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, industry trends, product development, and competitive and regulatory framework evolution across a wide range of industries; corporate finance and transactions including mergers and acquisitions, equity transactions, and debt financing transactions; financial modeling and analysis including preparing detailed financial models; coordinating with advisors to perform tasks including business, financial, tax, and legal due-diligence; preparing documentation for committees including capital commitment committees, equity underwriting committees, fairness committees, and valuation committees; drafting and reviewing legal agreements; negotiating terms and conditions of contracts and transactions; process and project management; preparing presentation materials and presenting to senior officers, senior bankers, and executives including c-suite and board of directors.
