Role Overview
Due to the significant growth and expansion of the firm, we are currently seeking a Manager of Performance Reporting to join our Performance Reporting Team in our Coral Gables or Boston office.
You will work closely with teams across the organization, including the Investment Professionals, Capital Formation, Compliance, Investor Services, Legal, and Valuations teams, to analyze and communicate strategy, fund and deal performance of the H.I.G. Funds. This role provides a broad range of exposure to different aspects of the business.
Role Responsibilities
- Review external investor reports, fundraising materials, and monthly/quarterly management reports.
- Review quarterly performance reporting with a focus on gross and net IRRs, key multiples (gross and net MOIC, DPI, TVPI, etc.), and other fund and deal-level metrics (reference data, portfolio company financial data, etc.).
- Ensure that ad hoc requests are completed on time and accurately.
- Track and manage timeliness of routine deliverables, ad hoc requests and projects.
- Train and develop the performance team.
- Initiate and lead projects to document policies and procedures and to build out new processes, models and reports to create efficiency and productivity.
- Assist as needed with completion of routine deliverables and ad hoc requests.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or consulting, preferably in the asset management or financial services industry.
- Experience in direct lending required, experience in other private credit strategies, real estate or private equity desired.
- Experience with IRRs and Multiples (MOIC, TVPI, DPI, etc.) on fund performance, composites and/or track records required.
- Experience with fund runoff models, IRR projections and carry modeling strongly preferred.
- Experience with reference data (industry, transaction role, etc.), instrument data (rates, terms, covenants, etc.) and portfolio financials data (EBITDA, leverage, etc.)
- Experience supervising, training and mentoring junior staff.
- Advanced Excel skills (ex. Macros, Arrays, IF statements, VBA, etc.) preferred.
- Meticulousness and attention to detail, accompanied by extensive self-review.
- Takes full ownership and accountability of work product and leads by example in areas of attitude, urgency, process improvement and quality of work.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Ability to engage directly with senior members of the various internal teams as well as with external parties.
- Accounting, Finance or Economics degree; CPA or CFA is a plus.
- Experience with FIS systems (Investran, VPM, or similar portfolio accounting systems) and with IVP Polaris or similar data warehouse tools, a plus.
