Jefferies’ Financial Institutions Group (“FIG”) provides a comprehensive suite of investment banking services tailored to the financial services industry. Within FIG, our Insurance Services vertical is a dedicated team focused exclusively on clients across the insurance spectrum— Reinsurance, Insurance Brokers, InsurTech, and related service providers. With the recent addition of top-tier talent and a robust deal pipeline, our Insurance Services team is positioned for accelerated growth and market leadership.
POSITION:
The Financial Institutions Group is actively seeking an experienced Associate or Vice President to join our Insurance Services Coverage team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers and clients on high-impact transactions across the insurance industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a banker in the Insurance Services vertical, you will play a key role in originating and executing a wide range of strategic and capital markets transactions for insurance clients. Responsibilities include:
- Leading the execution of M&A transactions, capital raises (equity and debt), and strategic advisory engagements for insurance carriers, brokers, MGAs, and InsurTech firms
- Developing and delivering tailored client presentations and strategic pitch materials
- Performing in-depth valuation analyses using insurance-specific methodologies (e.g., embedded value, actuarial appraisals, statutory capital analysis)
- Drafting transaction documents including offering memoranda, CIMs, management presentations, and regulatory filings
- Managing due diligence processes and coordinating with legal, actuarial, and accounting advisors
- Mentoring and managing junior team members (Associates and Analysts)
- Supporting senior bankers in client relationship development and coverage efforts
- This role involves frequent interaction with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers at insurance companies, as well as collaboration with internal product partners across M&A, ECM, DCM, and Restructuring.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
- Minimum 4-5 years of investment banking experience, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the insurance sector
- Deep understanding of insurance industry dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and valuation techniques
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a passion for the insurance industry
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
