Fund or Department Description
Carlyle Private Equity Partners Fund (CPEP) was established to provide eligible individuals a single access point to Carlyle's Global Private Equity (GPE) platform by participating in transactions alongside Carlyle's established GPE funds, including buyout, growth, infrastructure and certain other investment strategies. Carlyle's philosophy prioritizes depth over breadth, positioning the firm as a specialist within sectors and geographies where the team believes it has a competitive advantage to drive performance.

Position Summary
The Vice President will play a critical leadership role within Carlyle's Global Private Equity (GPE) platform, supporting the growth and development of Carlyle Private Equity Partners (CPEP)-a global evergreen private equity vehicle designed for retail and high-net-worth investors. This individual will also lead the origination and execution of buyout transactions across sectors, working closely with The Head of CPEP and senior Private Equity professionals in a lean, high-impact team environment.
This role combines strategic fund-level oversight with active investment execution responsibilities, requiring exceptional analytical acumen, transaction experience, and leadership capability.
Primary Responsibilities
Evergreen Platform Strategy & Portfolio Oversight
- Evaluate and monitor investment opportunities sourced from the broader Carlyle platform (e.g., direct opportunities, balance sheet investments, secondary stakes) for inclusion in the evergreen portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across GPE, CEP, CTEP, CAP, and CJP, and with the Carlyle research team, to align portfolio construction with broader macroeconomic and investment theses.
- Drive marketing efforts for CPEP across the US and Internationally as Carlyle scales the strategy.
- Serve as a thought leader in external and internal forums, supporting capital raising, strategic planning, and investor education initiatives.
- Provide oversight of the fund-level financial model for CPEP, including sensitivities, scenario analysis, and long-term capital planning.
- Monitor competitor products (e.g., BXPE, KKR Prime, Apollo AAA) and incorporate insights into platform development and strategic positioning.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications such as an MBA, CFA, or CAIA are strongly preferred.
Professional Experience
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or related alternative investment fields.
- Demonstrated experience executing complex private equity transactions and leading cross-functional deal teams.
- Familiarity with evergreen vehicles or long-duration capital strategies is a strong plus.
Competencies & Attributes
- Deep technical expertise in financial modeling, valuation analysis, capital structuring, and performance tracking.
- Strategic thinker with a sophisticated understanding of private equity fund mechanics and portfolio construction.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate investment theses and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Preqin, Capital IQ, FactSet); experience with SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver under tight deadlines.

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $250,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
