Lead strategic oversight of managed account and advisory programs across workplace and retail channels, combining product strategy, platform modernization, compliance alignment, and growth initiatives. This role partners with Product Development, Technology, Compliance, Distribution, and Relationship Management teams to drive innovation, vendor governance, and expansion of managed account offerings for institutional and retail markets. With a specific focus on the build out and expansion of Advisor Managed Accounts, enhanced and complex program adoption types, and strategic knowledge of program pricing.
Essential Functions For This Role Include
- Act as liaison between business operations and technology; sponsor projects that enhance processes and customer support.
- Partner with compliance, legal, and operations to ensure regulatory alignment
- Direct short- and long-term objectives; maintain internal and external customer relationships.
- Oversee account management, enrollment/maintenance services, billing administration, policy issues, and auditing to ensure consistency and quality.
- Coordinate advisory platform enhancements and manage third-party advice/managed account vendors.
- Manage a portfolio of product-area priorities and lead strategic planning routines and governance.
- Develop executive communications and influence cross-business leaders around shared goals and roadmaps.
- Create relationships and partner with external key strategic parterns such as RIA firms, Advisors, and Consultants to build and improve our program offerings
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to frame outside-in strategy and new opportunities.
- Coordinate delivery of initiatives with distribution, investment managers, and technology teams.
- Set vision and strategy for retail SMA offering and oversee daily operations.
- Maintain a robust product lineup and roadmap, lead implementation of modernization initiatives.
- Develop tools/research for clients and strengthen third-party and proprietary manager relationships.
- Align platform strategy with Retail and Wealth Management business objectives.
- Develop and implement sales plans and rotation schedules focused on RIA market growth.
- Cultivate relationships with key RIA decision makers and custodian platforms, support placements and model allocations.
- Provide input to product development, marketing, and broker/dealer integration.
- Partner with internal wholesalers; deliver territory activity reporting and results.
If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration/Management or Marketing required; Master’s preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years leadership experience in investment/retirement advisory products, managed accounts, or related strategy roles.
- 10 + years Retirement advisory, managed accounts, SMA product management, or RIA channel distribution.
- FINRA Series 7 & 63 required
- Series 24/65 preferred.
- Deep knowledge of retirement regulations and fiduciary standards.
- Operational excellence and process improvement.
- Cross-functional leadership with product, technology, risk, compliance, and distribution.
- Vendor management (advisor/managed account providers and third-party managers).
- Strategic planning, portfolio governance, and roadmap management.
- Executive communication and stakeholder influence.
- Market/competitive analysis for managed accounts.
- Program management across investment, distribution, and technology.
- Sales planning and execution; presentation and negotiation skills.
