Position Summary
The Assistant, Legal Recruiting will assist the Manager, Legal Recruiting with aspects of attorney recruitment, hiring and onboarding, including on-campus/law student recruitment and the summer associate program.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate and detailed candidate information in the recruitment database (viDesktop).
- Greet and welcome applicants upon arrival, provide office tours, and escort candidates to interviews.
- Assist with, track, and attend summer associate programs and law student recruiting events.
- Support local hiring and communication initiatives, including preparing Northern California–specific recruiting materials.
- Process recruiting-related expenses and ensure timely submission and tracking.
- Collaborate with other departments to address inquiries and coordinate general recruiting matters.
- Assist with local office affinity group events and partner with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department on related initiatives.
- Provide general administrative support and assist with additional projects as assigned by the department Chief and Managers.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with attorneys and staff at all levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, including proofreading for typographical, grammatical, spelling, and formatting errors.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
- Sound judgment and professional maturity, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other relevant applications.
- Willingness to travel for recruiting events as needed.
- Experience with viDesktop is a plus.
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3 years' working in a law firm or professional services industry preferred.
- Prior legal recruiting experience preferred.
Compensation
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $68,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
