Position Summary
The Financial Analyst, Data Management and Reporting role plays a crucial and strategic role at Nucleus and is central to implementing our growth strategy. The Financial Analyst will report to the Director of our Client Portfolios team.
The Financial Analyst will be a collaborative teammate and will support Nucleus as we develop new and enhance current internal and client-facing portfolio reporting, implementation, and research capabilities, to ensure Nucleus remains on the path to preeminence in the wealth advisory industry.
You will allow for a flexible in-office schedule, with a requirement of at least three days a week in the office, located in the heart of NYC's lively Chelsea neighborhood.
What You'll Do
- Embrace learning, lean into openness and team collaboration, and develop as a NexGen leader
- Work with Nucleus' Analysts and Associates to prepare monthly and quarterly client portfolio reports
- Collect, consolidate, and present data tracking transactions and valuation updates for alternative investments (hedge funds, private equity funds, other limited partnerships)
- Integrate new accounts and private investments into Nucleus' portfolios and reporting
- Help with the maintenance and support with Nucleus' client portal users
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure alternative investment transactions and performance data is accurate, complete, reliable, and timely
- Develop relationships and work with alternative investment fund managers and administrators, and Hightower's client reporting support team to provide an accurate and streamlined reporting process
- Create and document policies and procedures for data management, data integrity and quality assurance
- Coordinate with Hightower's Field Supervision team to ensure Nucleus remains compliant with data retention and private asset valuation policies
- Oversee control related tasks across the reporting functions to provide a single cohesive approach to reporting and audit protocols
- Help evaluate and integrate new processes and technology solutions to increase efficiency in Nucleus' client reporting
- Help with investment due diligence and markets research
- Help with ad-hoc client reporting requests and projects
There will be opportunities to work with all members of the team and learn about asset allocation, portfolio management, alternative investments, and trust and estate, insurance, tax, financial and philanthropic planning.
You are committed to making a difference for clients in the wealth management industry. You have an interest and curiosity about financial markets and personal finance topics.
What You'll Bring
- Undergraduate Degree required, preferred in finance, accounting, statistics, engineering, or information technology, (provide GPA)
- 3+ years of professional experience
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience with Black Diamond's investment portfolio reporting software is preferred, but not required
- Strong quantitative and financial skills
- Comfort and proficiency with analyzing large data sets, in MS Excel
- Methodical, thorough, and efficient in completing projects
- Ability to identify patterns in the data and present and convey complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner
- Interest in gaining knowledge about wealth management, portfolio allocation and alternative investments
- Initiating projects and asking, “How can I help?”
- Desire to collaborate in small groups, move toward open dialogue and be surrounded by people equally inspired by learning
