Founded in 2008, Hightower is a wealth management firm that provides investment, financial and retirement planning services to individuals, foundations and family offices, as well as 401(k) consulting and cash management services to corporations. Hightower’s capital solutions, operational support services, size and scale empower its vibrant community of independent-minded wealth advisors to grow their businesses and help their clients achieve their financial vision. Based in Chicago with advisors across the U.S., we operate as a registered investment advisor (RIA).
Your Future Team
Hightower One (“HT1”) is Hightower’s new investment management platform, presently in development for launch in 2026. HT1 will provide centralized portfolio management for advisors and investors across the Hightower enterprise, including Hightower Signature Wealth, Hightower’s new national direct to consumer wealth business.
What You’ll Do
As an Investment Research Manager, you will help curate the roster of available investment products and solutions offered to advisors and clients through the HT1 platform. You will also serve as a relationship manager, facilitator, and mediator driving operational efficiency and platform optimization across the organization. More specifically, this role focuses will require the candidate to manage the following tasks:
- Investment Manager/Product Research: Work closely with New England Pension Consultants (NEPC), our in-house CIO services provider, to identify investment product needs and opportunities, analyze 3rd party and in-house investment strategies, and formulate recommendations on product/manager changes for HT1
- Portfolio Analysis and Migration Strategies: Analyze models, portfolios and holdings transitioning to the HT1 platform using industry analytical tools. Make migration recommendations based on investment objective criteria.
- Relationship Management: Work closely with external investment managers to assess their products for inclusion in HT1. Work with the firm’s Product Management and Investment Operations teams to onboard and operationalize new separate account and model investment strategies.
- Investment Committee Operations: Work closely with the CRO and Enterprise Ris function, NEPC and other investment committee members to review and obtain approval on product changes and other ongoing reviews of the solutions and providers available through the HT1 platform.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Product to ensure coordinated project execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years' experience in wealth or asset management as an analyst.
- CFA or CFA candidate preferred.
- Quantitative portfolio management experience/knowledge is valued.
- Familiarity with portfolio analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Barra, Alladin, Morningstar, FactSet).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs
