Job Description
The Client Portfolio Management Team works closely with the Strategy Team in the management of the client portfolios. The role of the Client Portfolio Analyst is to ensure that we understand exactly what our clients' current and future expectations are in terms of performance objectives, risk tolerance, investment style, and regulatory environment, to communicate these expectations to the relevant strategy group and to ensure that the mandate being delivered is fully consistent with client objectives.
The role will be based in Los Angeles, with a focus on sophisticated relationships encompassing a variety of client types and Payden & Rygel strategies.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze stock and bond markets.
- Coordinate key client communications on portfolio characteristics, risks, returns, market views, etc.
- Develop presentations, periodic reports, and marketing materials for existing clients, prospects, and consultants, as well as for internal purposes.
- Address clients’ day-to-day queries, investigate and respond to internal and external ad-hoc questions on topics such as portfolio and fund-specific information, investment guidelines, and compliance matters.
- Manage internal communications with strategy teams related to cash flows and transactions.
- Help in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders the onboarding of new accounts, transition management, and account restructuring procedures.
- Participate in client meetings and conference calls as appropriate.
- Provide support on long-term client relationship management projects where necessary.
Qualifications
- Collaborative and willing to support the team to the benefit of our clients.
- Initiative-taking, keen sense of ownership, meticulous, and positive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize requests, manage deadlines, and work under time pressure to deliver the highest level of service to our clients.
- Intellectually curious and enthusiastic about the investment management industry – some level of market knowledge is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills, as well as proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and database querying, would be a plus.
- The ideal candidate would have one to three years of experience, but we are also open to considering new college graduates.
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree
- CFA or demonstrated progress toward obtaining credential is preferred.
